Disaster Prevention and Education Centre

Designs for a learning centre and exhibition space, incorporating the ability to simulate natural disasters.
Responding to the needs to create both a learning centre and an exhibition space, we devised a solution for this project as a series of clusters, each with a separate room accessed via a journey on a specially devised loop. These loops create internal landscapes, maintaining a relationship between the concept of natural disasters and the external landscapes of the buildings. Each cluster has an aperture in the roof, allowing varying amounts of light to filter into each room, meeting the specific educational needs and disaster simulation requirements of the individual spaces. The pixelated tile exterior creates a continuous surface between the façade and roof to create a sense of landscape.
